I launched Gingerlily Flowers in 2009 and 2017 sees an exciting development for my floral brand in the shape of the transition to Rebecca Marsala. Just like the flowers I work with on a daily basis, my business has grown and bloomed in the most wonderful ways and I’m so excited for this new chapter. My passion for my work grows with every day and however many more years of experience I gain, there’s not one week where I’m not presented with new challenges and inspiration.

I first felt at home with flowers when I was just 11 years old. My aunt, who had her own florist shop, was most certainly responsible and I knew from a very young age that this was the path I wanted to take. I started my training when I was 16, working for a prestigious florist in my area and flowers have been a part of my life ever since.

I love my unusual surname and its origin. My wonderful and very supportive husband, Paolo, is from Sicily, the southern most region of Italy. There, you’ll find a beautiful town named Marsala which also gives its name to a tasty dessert wine. Paolo is my rock and he helps me hugely. He’ll don a black suit and bow tie to deliver Valentine’s flowers and he makes me endless cups of tea when I’m working late, preparing wedding flowers during the summer months.

When you visit my studio, my gorgeous girls, Ricotta and Vespa (their names are a nod to my Italian surname!) may well greet you with wagging tails before you can step inside. The studio itself is always full of flowers with fresh blooms arriving on a daily basis. There are always different things to see and I always feel the flowers are made more beautiful thanks to the industrial style of the studio.

During our time together at the studio, I really hope you’re able to meet my super team. Ann is a natural creative and she has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the wedding world having run a super successful bridal boutique for 10 years. Her experience is invaluable and she keeps everything about your wedding on track with her love of lists and spreadsheets.

I also have Leah, my super Saturday support and she makes everything look wonderful. She’s got an eye for detail that I love and she’s a pleasure to work with. During busy periods, I’ve also got a number of florists that I know well who I can call on for additional support and everything we do is completed to the high standards that Rebecca Marsala has become so well known for.
